Despite facing adversity and financial hardships, Deisy found solace in her creative spirit. Armed with a determination to succeed, she fearlessly experimented with homemade scrubs and beauty treatments, using whatever ingredients she could find in her humble kitchen. At the tender age of 12, Deisy had already established her first clientele, showcasing her talent for makeup and beauty transformations. Her innate gift couldn’t be contained.
Driven by her dreams, Deisy’s journey led her to assist renowned Mary Kay and Avon representatives while honing her skills at her aunt’s salon. Fueling her ambition, she pursued formal education in esthetics and makeup artistry at the esteemed Learning Institute of Beauty Science and Marinello School of Beauty.
But Deisy’s thirst for knowledge was insatiable. She yearned to deepen her understanding of holistic wellness and therapeutic touch. Thus, she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from UTESA in the Dominican Republic and obtained her Western and Eastern massage certifications as a CMT at the prestigious National Holistic Institute. Always pushing her boundaries, in 2016 she added a Certificate in Spa & Hospitality Management from the University of California Irvine to her impressive repertoire.
In 2004, Deisy transformed her dreams into reality by founding her very own company, Desuar Cosmetics. With unwavering determination, she created innovative products like the luxurious Body Lotion and the revolutionary Dual Action Enzyme Papaya Cleanser, drawing inspiration from skincare experts in South Korea.
A true trailblazer, Deisy’s entrepreneurial spirit soared to new heights when she opened her first Desuar Spa in the vibrant heart of Downtown Los Angeles in 2010. Fueling her passion for expansion and bringing her unique approach to beauty and relaxation to more people, she extended her reach with two additional locations in Hollywood and Monterey. Deisy’s undeniable success story continues to captivate and inspire.
But her impact reaches far beyond the realms of beauty and business. Deisy is a published author, with her book “Marriage Material” touching the hearts of readers worldwide. Currently, she is diligently working on her second book, “Holy Skin,” which promises to be a beacon of wisdom and guidance for all beauty enthusiasts.
Deisy’s expertise and captivating presence have earned her a place on esteemed stages, speaking at top beauty summits and events. From American Spa Magazine to the empowering “Women, Wealth, Warriors” gatherings, her insights and passion leave audiences in awe.
Yet, Deisy’s unwavering commitment to giving back truly sets her apart. She has made significant contributions to charitable organizations such as Innocence Project, The Orangutan Project, Downtown LA Jewish Community Center, LAPD Central Boosters, Dignity Health, and the Downtown Women’s Center. Additionally, Deisy selflessly volunteered her time and healing touch at the Living Water Children’s Centre in Tanzania, Africa, where she brought comfort and care to orphaned children through her transformative touch therapy.
Beyond her remarkable career accomplishments, Deisy skillfully balances the demands of her professional success with the joys of motherhood. A testament to her unwavering dedication and boundless determination.
