BROW TINTING - A Perfect Complement to Threading

If you are looking for a temporary way of enhancing the look of your brows, maybe tinting would do the trick for you. Eyebrow tinting is a technique of applying semi-permanent dye to improve, shape, and delineate your brows. This allows a professional to cleverly control the brow area by darkening the fine hairs that surround the outer edge of the brow to increase the width. It also darkens the fine hairs in the inner center of the brow that are in less dense areas, which will create a longer brow tail and a more ideal shape. The result would be darker, fuller, and fluffier brows that last from four to six weeks.

The procedure generally takes around ten to fifteen minutes to finish. The first step is for the professional to cleanse the area with a pH-stabilizing rinse then the eyebrow hair is brushed and mapped out to the desired shape. A cream, usually petroleum jelly, is applied as a barrier around the eyebrows to prevent staining of the skin. Afterwards, the tint will be applied beginning from one end of the eyebrow to the other end and then the second layer is applied in the reverse direction. Your technician will mix the dye and apply it carefully. In order to obtain the right color, it must be one or two shades lighter compared to your hair color. The dye is left for some time which helps in attaining the optimal color. Finally, the excess dye is removed with a paper towel. In order for your eyebrow tint to last longer, keep them dry and avoid getting them wet for at least twelve hours after having them tinted.

If at first, your brows look too dark, just wait it out as the first darkness will only last for a few days and will slowly change to get closer to the right color every time you cleanse your face. Take into consideration the type of dye that is used, how you scrub your face, the sunscreen that you use, and how fast your hair grows and sheds. Moreover, the quality of your color can be affected by sun exposure, saltwater, and chlorinated water. Keep them dry and don’t use an oil-based cleanser, make-up, and other oil-based skincare products to make your tint last longer.

The risks with eyebrow tinting are allergic reactions and infections especially around the eye which is thinner compared to the skin on other parts of the body. Other effects include burning eyes, eye infections, and other allergies. That is why it is important to have a patch test before undergoing this procedure. Better choose a vegetable-based or natural dye which have fewer chemicals and is less likely to irritate your skin. More importantly, leave the tinting to a trained professional. That way, you will avoid any untoward incidents.

As with any other beauty treatment, the cost of eyebrow tinting will depend on your salon, but typically it does not cost much. You will notice that your eyebrow tint gives you bolder and more natural-looking eyebrows which accentuate your features making you more youthful and sexier. It also simplifies your make-up process thus saving you time and energy. Just do your research first and follow all the precautions before doing this amazing technique.
